NOBODY DOES WARMTH LIKE WOOLX
Have hiked in them every weekend since January 1st, Testing woolx vs smartwool vs minus 33 vs meriwool vs icebreaker…….nothing compares to the durability of this top and bottom… the woolx brand for the heavyweight sure holds up the best, dries quickly, and doesn’t need many overlays of extra clothing….coming in a tie for woolx is the brand kora….60%yak wool and 40% merino for my backup set to the heavyweight since im starting a January 1st attempt of the Appalachian trail….very pleased and will purchase again!!!
I bought this for my husband for our trip to Europe next winter. We are planning on taking a carry-on only, so I wanted super-warm, dressy-casual layers. Woolx is perfect. Thicker and warmer than the competitors, but without the bulk of a chunky sweater. I got him the Glacier in grey and black, and the Riley for myself. So. Good. Worth every penny.
Most wool baselayers are 150g or 250g, but this one is 400g. It's definitely warmer. Very well made, plus I like the thumbholes to keep the sleeves from riding up when putting on outer layers. It fits fairly tight, but I wanted that so it would trap heat better. It's hard to find 100% wool baselayers--most these days are a wool/poly blend. This one is really excellent.
