Absolutely the best cold weather top I've ever owned. 2nd best would be my Cabela's Merino wool active sweater, that they don't make anymore, but this wins for the hood, the wrist guards and its extreme warmth (it's literally like a personal warming shelter, lifesaving really). I've worn the grizzly for 5 winters now (granted, nothing extreme), and it still looks and feels brand new, so I'm expecting it to last a very, very long time.

I'm 6'1" 170lbs and a Medium fit me well. I think up to 6'2" and 180 lbs is good for a Medium, so they do run large. Feels very premium, warm. The outer structure is not too firm or rigid a bit on the softer side, but holds it's shape well. The zippers feel good. Is snug enough on my thin frame without letting cold air come up from the bottom of the jacket. Sleeves are very long and so is the base of the jacket. It's expensive but worth having a high functioning hoodie. Only downside was the hood, its kinda square shaped and when I put it on it looks like two bumps or horns when I wear it. Needless to say, I'm keeping it even though it is expensive.

Received my package that had obvious damage- upon opening an item was missing and my husbands grizzly had damage to the outer plastic bag. I emailed the company, they immediately replaced my missing socks and after I sent pictures of the damage to the grizzly package they replaced it as well.
I didn’t see obvious damage to the grizzly but at that price point it’s an investment . I wanted to be sure the fibers of the item would wear evenly- they had no issues replacing the grizzly and sending me a return label for the damaged item.

This is definitely an upgrade from my boulder hoodie which was my favorite jacket. The wool is thick, soft and warm. Very high-quality wool. I have been using down to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit without getting cold. The hood is really nice with the added drawstrings.
The only downside I have found with the jacket is that the pockets are cheap polyester lined and not wool lined like my Boulder hoodie. This is way colder when my hands are in the pocket. Feels like a way to save money and I will say it has lessened my opinion of a brand I loved.

Bought this for my husband, it hasn't been cold enough yet here in Colorado for him to wear much but, so far he really seems to like it. The quality is great and he says it is very comfortable and soft. He has sensitive skin and this has not caused any irritation.

The arms are extreme long for the double extra large. I would've returned it for an extra large, but you folks have been out of stock so I guess I'm just gonna keep it but I don't know. Maybe it's a problem or maybe that's just the way it's Built. I usually wear 2X and most stuff.

It is very large in the body of the hooded jacket. I have many other Marino wool garments and they are a snugger fit on me in the 2X size.
I will need to use it a bit when the weather gets colder to get a good read on its benefits.

I've searched high and low for the perfect cold weather hoodie and this is it.
Super warm, it's ideal for long haul flights, travel, work - anywhere where you need something warm, stylish, superbly designed and virtually indestructable. It works on its own and as a layer the merino wool means you don't overheat, unlike other fleeces.
It isn't cheap but you def get what you pay for, and more. Don't hesitate, get one now.

Material is wonderful. Better than expected. Warm, breathable, and best of all it regulates temperature. Would have given 5 stars, but the coat is about 2-3 inches to long including the arms. Have to push the sleeves up to use my hands. Body of coat goes past my butt It’s like I got an xl tall, but they don’t make a tall version.

The weight of this sweatshirt is just right for multiple outdoor temperatures and settings. The look and the feel of it allow it to be worn casually for any occasion that requires a comfortable hoodie that will keep you warm while looking cool, haha.

I've had it for about a year and a half, the cuffs are completely tattered. By comparison, I have a Mountain Hardwear hoodie and H&M Hoodie for nearly a decade that has nearly no where on the cuffs or wear anywhere other than fade. Not worth the extra expense compared to competitors. It was nice while it lasted but overall seems pretty poorly made.

I got the grizzly for a third layer (under my Munro hardshell) for those below zero windy walks. Lent it to my spouse, who used it constantly, indoors and out. (we have differing veiws on what qualifies as cold). I finally bought another one for myself. Our only problem is that it doesn't come in Navy Blue.

Essential winter wear
By far a most remarkably warm “hoodie” I have owned. During a particularly cold snap in NC, I found this Merino wool hoodie superior to my heavy jacket. Although slightly oversized, I would highly recommend it. Looks great and the length protects the upper thighs.

This is my 2nd grizzly sweatshirt in black. It is the greatest piece of clothing ever made. It is like a warm hug in any casual situation, but the fabric & cut looks classy too, so you can wear it nearly anywhere. Sturdy, well-made, probably indestructible. Worth every penny to me.

This is a great sweetheart, very comfortable. I wear outside on cold morning walks with one or two layers beneath. The fit is good for me, maybe a bit long in the sleeves. I am 5’8” 170 lbs with a little paunch, I can wear one or two layers comfortably beneath.

Grizzly hoody
This is a heavy sweatshirt. 6’2” and 210. ordered a 2XL to make sure it was large enough, and it’s too big. I’m keeping it though as it fits over bulky clothes for winter. Soft, warm, and the hood cinches down well. So even though the hood is too large, it fits well, as I can cinch it down. Washed it warm and dryer on low. Did OK. No noticeable shrinkage or problems. Great heavyweight hoody.
