I bought my black Ryann at the same time as my Peppercorn Ryann, and it became Ryann #2 in what has since turned into a growing collection!
Black is a huge staple in my closet, so this one was an easy choice. I love having a beautifully made, comfortable merino hoodie that I can throw on with practically anything. It’s classic, flattering, incredibly versatile, and exactly the kind of piece that earns its keep in my wardrobe.
I’m still a relatively new Woolx customer, but the Ryann quickly became one of those styles I knew I wanted in multiple colors. I now own four Ryanns, and I’m not at all sure I’m finished! The black was an absolute must-have and one I know I’ll wear for years. Another easy five stars!

I like it well enough. It’s longer in length than I was hoping and it tends to be a bit scratchy on bare skin. But I like the look and if I wear over long sleeves shouldn’t be a problem.

Love it! I have not worn this jacket yet, but I am sure it will become my “go to” piece for layering. It is well constructed with tightly knit wool and is the perfect weight. I don’t usually wear hoodies because I find the hood to be too bulky, but that is not the case with this one. The styling and the black color give it a more elevated look - casual, not sloppy. I am an XL and found the fit true to size. It will also pack compactly and easily fit in my travel tote when I’m on the move. Even after shipping, wrinkles were minimal and fell out quickly. The zippered pockets are a huge plus and an advantage over similar brands. Well done Woolx!

Unfortunately this large is too big. I usually upsize to accommodate my hips and whatever top I have underneath any hoodie. This one is too wide and too long in the arms. I can grab a handful of material at the waist. And there are no mediums available in black at this time. I’m going to hold onto it for a while and hope more stock comes in so I can exchange it for size. Too bad cause the material feels nice and light.

I already own this in XL and it's an essential part of my wardrobe. I ordered a Large to see if fit better but it was was too small. Luckily returns/exchanges for this company are among the easiest in the business. Customer service wasn't needed for this exchange but they are wonderful. This hoodie sells out often, I highly recommend that you snap it up if you're interested.

I'd really been wanting a Ryann black but they're always sold out in the larger sizes. When a 2X became available, I jumped on it even though I'd been properly admonished that it'd be way too big for my size. I ordered it anyway and it is definitely too big, but I LOVE this "boyfriend-fitting" zip hoodie. However, when a gray in 1x became available, I ordered it as well, which is still a bit big but looks much more polished. Bottom line -- they both have their purposes and I love them!

I ordered the black Ryann in my first Woolx order in December 2025, as everyone loved it so much. At that time, I don't think I was quite used to how Woolx feels and fits, and returned it. I reordered it in July, in a medium, and I love it and now see what all the excitement is about!!! I love the Ryman hoodie! It will be perfect for summer and when I need to add a light layer. So soft, shaped beautifully, plenty of room to layer.
May also need the Darby for when I need a little more warmth, but would love it updated to keep that loose fit, but no hood. Hoods are nice, but not great when layered with outerwear.

I'm 5'8" and 220+lb and usually wear a 2XL in clothing. I knew this would be baggy and long per the other reviews, but it's really baggy. I tried to give it to my 6'2, 275lb son and he said it was also too baggy even for him! He's 6'2" and the 2XL came down to his hips so it's also pretty long too (but I expected as much per the other reviews and description). I would have preferred a more form fitting (but not tight) fit and could have gone down to a 1XL or XL - then layered it under another jacket. Since it's sold out, I decided to wash it and put it in the dryer in the highest heat setting to try to shrink it - I don't think it shrunk at all, or if it did, it as not noticeable. So for all those worried about WoolX shrinking in the washer or dryer and accidentally selecting high to medium heat - I don't think you need to worry :D I will say that it's super soft and comfy. I love the zippered outside pockets and the two inside open pockets. I see myself wearing it in the spring and fall. Since it's sold out, next year I'll make sure to buy a smaller size.
